Born as Sheheryar Javaid on the 16th of February 1988 in Amsterdam, partially raised in London and currently residing in Amsterdam, young Sherry Flavour didn’t aspire a career in the music industry at first. From the age of 12, Sherry was triggered by the movie industry and all he ever wanted to do was writing scripts and creating short movies, specializing in special effects editing.

At the age of 16, Sherry moved to London to take a course to master the art of special effects editing. While working on one of his films projects, Sherry realized it needed music. Not wanting to take the easy road by grabbing an existing music piece, he decided to write and compose his own score to complete his project and give it a personal note. Encouraged by his London posse who produced UK garage and early dubstep tracks, Sherry started to create. That short film never got finished as Sherry discovered a whole new passion: music composing.

While growing up, Sherry Flavour absorbed gallons of trance music and classical pieces. Struck by big chords based music, he knew melodic productions had to be his game. Just like so many ambitious artists, Sherry’s goal was to make it big in the music industry. While still molding and fine-tuning his tracks, he started to offer his productions to various music labels.

Dutch company Selekted Music was the first label to recognize the huge potential this talent brings to the table. After hearing just an 8-bar breakdown consisting only of an epic melody, still without any arrangement, structure or even a title, Selekted Music signed Sherry Flavour and his anonymous composition to the roster which ultimately became The Grand. Ever since a sneaky snippet appeared on YouTube, this big room tune started to create some heavy duty buzz on the net.

The Grand was exclusively picked up by the global # 1 DJ in the world Armin van Buuren, who gave it multiple spins during his show A State Of Trance and during his sets which sky-rocketed the internet buzz on the spot. Dutch event organization Art Of Dance, masterminds behind high profile events and festivals like a.o. Pleasure Island, Fabulous, Incredible and Free Festival, recognized the potential of The Grand as well as Art Of Dance will use The Grand as the official theme song for Fabulous 2010, where Sherry Flavour will exclusively perform as a DJ. 
  
Music-wise, Sherry Flavour’s biggest role model is Canadian producer Deadmau5 and one of his biggest releases to date, “Faxing Berlin”. Another big influence is Swedish producer Axwell, who struck a nerve when his single “Feel The Vibe” hit the airwaves. Both epic progressive tunes and right up Sherry’s sleeve. 

The DJ virus was injected when Sherry saw Tiësto play at a national fundraising event in 2005 on the Dam Square in Amsterdam. The reaction of the audience attending the event was outrageous; an image which lingered in Sherry’s head for a long period of time. At that moment, he knew he wanted to treat audiences with his love for music as well.

With brand new tunes lined up for release, some prolific gigs to play and an amazing video for The Grand ready to be unleashed, Sherry Flavour is one of those future names to keep your eyes and ears on, definitely on his way to the upper regions of his beloved scene!
