Rubix aka Jordy Stokvis, born and raised in The Netherlands, started playing as a DJ at the age of 18, but he went fast-forward since then. In the last five years he has gained a wealth of experience as a DJ by playing in the finest clubs all around the world. With his residency at one of Holland’s most infamous parties, “GirlsLoveDJs”, Rubix is a definite favorite amongst the Dutchies as well. Rubix’ sets contains everything from “Nu Disco” to “House” and from “Electro to Dubstep”. His wide range of influences includes tracks from the likes of A-trak, Diplo, Laidback Luke, DJ Sneak, Phoenix, Boys Noize, Armand Van Helden and M.I.A.
Besides DJing, Rubix’ production skills also did not pass unnoticed. Alongside artists such as Afrojack and Bart B More, Rubix’ rising star was picked up by Laidback Luke on his well-known forum. One of Rubix’ production milestones includes remixes for Bart B More, Don Diablo and collaborations with Malente & The Flexican. His first hit-record “Baiser sur la Disco” got 70 000 views on YouTube and has found its way onto the first “GirlsLoveDJs” compilation.
This track is madly supported among scene-heroes like Boemklatsch, Crookers and of course Laidback Luke. Luke also showed his love by playing Rubix’ remix of C-Code’s “Burning up in Here” on the French radio station FG. With releases on notorious labels such a Southern Fried and Sound Pellegrino, the success story of this youngster continues.
As Rubix tours around the world, Djing at sweaty dance parties... His most current and exciting news is: He’s in the middle of producing brand new records and collabs with some incredible names and soon he will launch his very own party imprint “Club Sandwich”!
With one foot firmly planted in Disco’s influential past, and one in dance music's future, Rubix is the man to watch!
