Mick is someone who does it all. If he’s not dj-ing at some of the biggest clubs in The Netherlands or opening up for a big international act, he’s at home making beats and videos. Never wanting to be like the others, he is constantly working on ways to stand out of the mold.

Growing up in a diverse household with parents from both The Netherlands and Chile, he was always surrounded by all kinds of music. It ranged from Latin American folklore to rock, and everything in between. But his true love for music began when he got his first Hip-Hop cassette from his aunt. That was the start of a long term addiction that to this day hasn’t stopped.

Fast forwarding to the age of 15, Mick began buying vinyl records and learning how to dj. At this time it was still mainly Hip-Hop, but he felt he missed something in his crates and started digging more intensively in other genres like Funk, Soul and Disco. With his growing collection he began playing in small clubs and bars, just practicing and enjoying the art form of dj-ing.

After finishing college Mickster really got in to the club scene and got noticed quickly. At this time it wasn’t only Hip-Hop, R&B, Funk, Soul and Disco, but he also incorporated the Latin American music he grew up on. That was the birth of his trademark sound. Now when you go the club to hear Mickster dj, expect a funky and diverse set, but always with a Latin touch.

Like always Mick wants to stand as an artist, so he started to dj-ing with videos. That was something he just fell in love with because it gave him the opportunity to connect in a more interactive way with the crowd.

Nowadays Mickster is a well known dj and has played in the biggest venues in The Netherlands and abroad, and has opened for famous international artists like Snoop Dogg, Chaka Khan, Maceo Parker, 50 Cent, The Game, Don Omar, Wisin y Yandel, Estelle, Robin Thicke, Slum Village, Nas, Saigon, Freeway, Candi Staton, Jason Derulo, George Clinton, Leela James, Rahzel, Pete Rock & CL Smooth, Method Man, Earth Wind & Fire, Milow, Ice Cube, Spanish Harlem Orquestra, Brand Nubian, Chamillionaire, The Clipse, Xzibit, B-Real, Ice-T, Tha Dogg Pound, Kelis, The Average White Band, Too Short, E-40, Paul Wall, D-12, Sugar Hill Gang, Candy Dulfer, Solange, Chic and Fred Wesley.
