As a young man he would listen to various music kinds. His mother schooled him with records such as MJ'S Bad,Lionel Ritchie, Diana Ross, Pia Sadora, Earth,wind and Fire and many more. His love to craft his own music started when he attended church with his mother and was totally enchanted by the man behind the keys. From that day on he pushed himself to learn how to play. Not long after that they discovered that he had an hidden talent. And that talent was not only rappin and singin over music but also creating it. To improve his skills he started to play in various bands and learned all about music in general. He wished not to be put in a box so he was egor to learn music from different origens such as Reggea,Rock, Funk etc etc. Because of that egorness he is now able to develope his own style.

At the age of 21 Jay Colin felt like he had to take it to the next step. He was already crafting his on beats at the time but was seeking for inspiration outside of the box. So he got in touch with a Production Team called "The Beatkidz". After hearing jay spit they immediatly jumped into the studio to work.. It wasnt long before he became a member of this team and started to buzz on the streets. Egor to create his own album Jay was collaborating with mcee's and producers all over the Netherlands and got in touch with Dutchflower. Who produced his first album called Truth and Soul. Thanks to that connect a larger amount of abillity's start to apply.

Big dutch industry artists such as Postman,Shy Rock, Berget Lewis, Idols winner Boris, Popstar singer Elize and more worked with Jay Colin in the studio. The journey does not end here! Even overseas jay started to push his boundries. Traveling to Tanzania Africa twice to perform for over more then 12000 people together with Reggea band "Rootsriders", tearing down stages in Sweden,Latvia,Turkey,Estonia and Germany. Jay is focused now more then ever to achieve his goals. And with that said overseas collabo's with Soul Legend George Mc Crea,T3 (Slumvillage, Phil the agony, Krondon,James Wade ( Dungeon family) ATL's 8oz, Jay and Dre City, Tom Cat (Eightball records)ATL's Omega an R and B recording artist who just put out his first single "Make love to this music" ft Rick Ross Jay is destined to forse a international break thru! Recently he connected with Turkish recording artist "Bora Uzer" and featured on his album "B1" with a counsience track called "Optical Illusions". Jay: The vibe in studio was so fresh we desided to work on an album together.

Jay Colin always wanted to reach europe first before spreading his wings and lift off overseas. So it's no surprise he's collaborating with one of Barcelona's most promising Dj's Albert Neve on a single wich will be released this spring! Summer 2010 Jay Colin will drop his second album called "S.M.I.L.E ". In wich he will take it back to the essence of the very begin! Stay Tuned!
