Fady Ferraye has not had a normal upbringing for an artist. Born in Beirut,
he began collecting vinyl at the age of 10, with the Lebanese civil war as a
backdrop, mastering his skills back in the 80s in one of the city’s
bomb shelters. Back then, Beirut was similar to Berlin pre-1990; dark, divided, and
insecure. It was no easy start for a musician’s career that would one day take him
across the world for high-profile gigs, in The Netherlands, Lebanon, India, Belgium, Germany, Romania, Qatar, Armenia, Syria, Jordan, Greece, Bahrain, Dubai, Romania, Turkey, Serbia, France.... Fady has truly delivered the message that the Middle East is not only a place of war, but a place of musical expression and a hotbed of creativity. After years of spinning in the vibrant but at times troubled Middle East, Fady felt the time was right to take the plunge to move to a European dance music epicentre, Amsterdam, away from the domestic troubles in his native country.

The switch to Amsterdam saw his international DJ career really start. He quickly became resident at Club NL (2005 to date), launched his own Saturday night Hurly Burly with Dutch celeb dj and tv star Johnny De Mol, with whom he has played in many important venues in Amsterdam. Fady also collaborated on Dj Maron's theme night and concept, Yield, with whom he shared the decks for three beautiful long years, playing all over Holland, and releasing a hit "Believe the way".

Fady's consistency behind the decks has led to invites to play internationally in as far-flung places such as Dubai and India, and amazingly he still manages to hold down a regular slot at B018 in Beirut, flying to the Middle East on a regular basis. Glamorous nights have included performing at afterhours party for P Diddy, headlining Fashion TV's Black Diamond Boat, Gumball 3000 Amsterdam Party, The Launching of Sony's PS2 at B018, and Sensation's (aka Sensation White) vip party at the Grand Casino in Belgrad, while DJ bookings over the years have seen him perform alongside superstar djs such as Tiesto, Paul Oakenfold, Deep Dish, Chuckie, Sander Kleinenberg, Kid Loco, Above & Beyond, Judge Jules, Dave Seaman, Marco V and many more.

Productions are crucial for the progress of any DJ’s career and this hard-working studio master has signed records to labels all around the world including Audio Therapy, Baroque (UK), Presslab (Italy), Faith (Belgium), Bad Pony, Often Gruven (Canada), Frisky, Proton Particles, Apollo (US), Pesto, Jetlag (Ger), Outside The Box, The Sessions (NL), and many more. Support has come from the cream of the world’s DJ elite including Hernan Cattaneo, Sharam (Deep Dish), Sasha, John Digweed, Nick Warren, Dave Seaman, James Zabiela, Steve Lawler, Laurent Garnier and many more.

Fady also runs his own labels, Goosebumps and Red Circle, to release his own music and to push any unsigned dancefloor gems he finds on his travels. The Goosebumps label is managed by UK-based Critical Rhythm.

With internet radio and podcasting expanding, Fady also crucially finds time to host two popular radio shows, Frisky Radio (No. 1 internet radio), and Holland’s number one radio I D & T's Dance Tunes Radio (Sensation, Energy, and Mystery Land).

2010 was an important year for Fady Ferraye, with big releases on Baroque, Frisky and Audio Therapy, a new residency (with Johnny De Mol) at Amsterdam's legendary club Panama, and a residency in Beirut, where it all started, B018, the club that John Digweed has chosen at Dj Mag's poll, as the best club he visited in 2010, (Fady Ferraye is resident since 2000). That year, also, saw Fady climbing the charts of Dj mag's yearly poll, making it to #14th Progressive House Dj of the year 2010, and that is just a start, Fady Ferraye's cult is still growing bigger and bigger in all corners of the world, thanks to his wise and mature vision and big contribution in the underground music culture, also thanks to his open minded and versatile taste; Naji Gebran, Fady's old friend and mentor, also B018's creator and musico therapist called him once “the walking encyclopedia of music”!
