Born in Essen, Germany in 1983, Chris indulged his passion for music from a young age. While he was growing up with a father playing instruments like the guitar and the piano and listening to his sister’s music, it was clear to him that one day he was gonna be working in the music industry.

From the moment Chris entered a club for the very first time and he laid eyes on the DJ, he knew this was it! Fascinated by what the DJ did, Chris went to clubs every week just to see what they were doing. He got invited by one of his DJ friends to come behind the booth whom showed him some skillz on a turntable and mixer. After that he went to his studio each week to watch and learn. One day at Christmas he finally got what he was waiting for, his own DJ gear. Soon he spend all the money he earned on records and practised whenever he could. While chasing his dream of becoming a DJ on his own, he got his first chance in 1997, when he started as the youngest in a group of DJ’s. After one year he made his first mix tape. As a result, he got offered a chance to be a resident DJ at a club in his hometown Essen. This is where he really could expose his turntable skills and where he found his love for housebeats.

While following the scene in England, the United States and especially Holland, he realized he wanted to add something different, something better. He specialized himself into remixing on the spot. In no time his reputation as a club DJ grew and  his fanbase expanded rapidly. Soon he was recognized for his undeniable ability to create a party at any venue and he got signed by GIG International. With that his career took another big step forward. From that moment on he started playing in all the renowned clubs and his career skyrocketed. He was asked for countless line-ups featuring big names in the music industry like: Chuckie, Laidback Luke, Fatman Scoop, Afrojack, Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano. By then the world had started to tune in. The name Chris Ellis was made!

Since then, he has worked with international Artist’s / DJ’s and has been touring in places like: Ibiza (Spain), Alanya (Turkey), Prha (Czech Republic), Amsterdam (The Netherlands), Antwerp (Belgium), Cologne, Frankfurt (Germany) and many other countries, Chris rocks clubs all over Europe.
